Nu Phi Psi’s 20th Year Will Endure Cutbacks, but not Steps Back…(8.3.08)
With the new legislation regarding membership dues and new membership intake fees passing at the national conference this past June, our membership will lose a few of the luxuries that have been steadfast the last few years. With our sights set on acquiring a new national headquarters facility (for meetings, conferences, presentations, etc.), this year’s budget (and probably our next few fiscal year budgets) received sizable cutbacks.
The Late Membership Fee Forgiveness Program that gave members of our brotherhood time-to-pay while they assumed the privileges of full membership is a thing of the past. The deadline for 2008-2009 annual membership dues is Saturday, September 6 (at 12:30pm) and the Corporate Office will be enforcing the looming deadline diligently.
Those who are tardy, or miss the deadline completely, will face hundreds of dollars in reinstatement penalties.
“It’s time for us to take as much pride in our financial responsibility to our fraternity, as we take in service and outreach,” Said Chairman Gilbert. “Financial stability is key to securing national expansion.”
Also, among the cutbacks are the thick plastic thermal-pressed membership cards issued annually and the complimentary stainless steel membership pins for new inductees of established chapters. The plastic membership cards will be replaced with a more cost-efficient, thinner more flexible card. As for the lapel pins, they will be available for purchase by chapters directly from Corporate.
